ATLANTA, Ga. – The Centers for Disease Control is recommending that salads packaged at a Dole facility in Springfield, Ohio not be eaten.

The CDC, along with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been investigating a multi-state outbreak of Listeria infections, which caused the death of one Michigan woman.  The outbreak was reported in six states since July 5, 2015.

Investigators have tracked the outbreak to packaged salads from a Dole processing facility in Springfield, Ohio. The salads were packaged under various brand names including:

  • Dole
  • Fresh Selections
  • Simple Truth
  • Marketside
  • The Little Salad Bar
  • President’s Choice

The packaged salads all have the letter “A” at the beginning on the manufacturing code on the package.

The company told the CDC that they stopped all production at the facility on January 21st. They also have pulled all packaged salads on the market that were made at the facility.

The CDC recommends that consumers shouldn’t eat any of the packages they may have from the facility.
