ST. IGNACE, Mich. (AP) — The Mackinac Bridge has been temporarily closed to traffic due to falling ice.

Ice warmed by the sun was falling Tuesday more than 300 feet from cables and towers, threatening vehicles below. No injuries or damage were reported.

A similar shutdown took place Saturday that lasted several hours. The bridge connects Michigan’s Lower and Upper peninsulas.

Updates are being posted on the bridge’s website.
