Los Angeles County firefighters were called to the home in the 500 block of Palos Verdes Drive West at 3:39 p.m., a Fire Department official told KTLA.

Aerial video from Sky5 showed a dark Lexus sedan on top of the red-tiled roof.

A Fire Department spokesman later said on Twitter that the car was on the roof of a garage, and one patient had been removed from the vehicle and taken by ambulance to a hospital.

It was not clear how the vehicle got onto the garage roof.

Another vehicle appeared to be damaged in the neighboring driveway.

Multiple emergency vehicles were on scene, and the Fire Department’s Urban Search & Rescue team was working to secure the car so it could be removed.

The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department asked residents to avoid about a 1-mile section of Palos Verdes Drive West and expect detours. The roadway is a key route through that section of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
