KENTWOOD, Mich. — In what will be his first campaign stop in West Michigan, GOP presidential candidate Marco Rubio is planning a rally in the Grand Rapids area next Tuesday evening.

Rubio is set to appear at a rally at the Lacks Enterprises Inc. facility in Kentwood on Feb. 23. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m and doors will open to the public at 6:30 p.m. He will appear alongside U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga, R-Zeeland, who co-chairs the Florida Senator’s Michigan campaign.

Huizenga officially endorsed Rubio late last year.

The event is free but registration is required to attend.

Rubio’s visit follows what has been a flurry of campaign stops for presidential candidates in the state. Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich held a town hall at Grand Valley State University last week, while Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders rallied thousands in Ypsilanti. Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Hillary Clinton have also recently made campaign stops in Michigan.

Both the Democrats andRepublicans will hold debates in Michigan next month.

Rubio is one of six remaining candidates for the Republican presidential nomination. He continues to poll third among rivals in Michigan, according to the most recent data from Real Clear Politics.

Michigan’s primary is March 8.
