CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — State troopers say a three vehicle crash resulted in the death of a six-year-old girl Wednesday afternoon.

Michigan State Police say the accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on M-66 near Glenn Cross in Leroy Township.  The first crash happened when a southbound vehicle lost control and slid into the northbound lane, right in the path of an another vehicle. Soon after, a third vehicle traveling north also collided with the other 2 vehicles.

Harlyn Radley, 6, died at Bronson Methodist Hospital as a result of her injuries. She and her mother, Heather Radley, were in the vehicle heading south. Heather suffered serious injuries from the crash and was also treated at Bronson.

The driver of the initial northbound vehicle was also taken to Bronson for a non-life threatening injury.

Investigators say speed and severe weather consisting of heavy, blowing snow appear to be factors in the crash.
