KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich – A high-profile cold case homicide investigation out of the Vicksburg area could be one step closer to closure this week.
Investigators with the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department tell FOX17 they’ve compiled their findings on the Erik Cross case and have forwarded their information to the prosecutor’s office for review.
Cross was 16 years old when he was found dead by his father outside his Vicksburg home in the summer of 1983. Investigators have maintained a core group of at least 5 people with direct knowledge of what happened to Cross have maintained a code of silence for decades.
The case recently received national exposure after being featured on the show Crime Watch Daily, which airs on FOX17. New findings in the investigation were revealed in February, which can be found in the video player below.
