FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — No one was injured following a house fire in Fruitport Saturday evening.
Firefighters arrived to the home in the 2800 block of Farr Road in Fruitport Township around 8 p.m.
A FOX 17 crew on scene said the home was located off the roadway and that tankers were forced to bring water to the area due to a lack of hydrants.
Authorties said three people lived in the home and arrived on scene as fire crews worked to put out the flames. They’re being assisted by the Red Cross. The family reportedly also had a dog, who was believed to be inside at the time of the fire.
Officials said no one was inside the home at the time the fire began and it’s believed the blaze started at the center of the house.
Neighbors reported they saw large flames and a passerby saw a large amount of smoke coming through the trees.
Investigators said the home is a total loss.
