GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The region’s roadways were filled with reports of accidents and slide-offs Sunday morning.
The crashes occurred during an April snow, sleet and freezing rain storm that pounded West Michigan during the morning hours.
Just as FOX 17 weather forecasters had predicted, at noon Sunday warmer temperatures resulted in the precipitation turning to all rain, which improved the conditions of area roadways for motorists and their passengers.
The West Michigan Whitecaps’ matinee game with the South Bend Cubs, scheduled for Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park, also was postponed due to the inclement weather conditions.
