GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A woman was taken to the hospital after police say she was shot in the head Friday afternoon.
The Grand Rapids Police Department says it happened in the 800 block of Humbolt Street SE around 2:30 p.m. Her boyfriend told authorities he accidentally shot her in the head, causing a “superficial injury.”
The woman was awake and alert when officers arrived. She was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital, where she was expected to be released.
Her boyfriend was arrested. The Major Case Team will investigate the incident before presenting it to the prosecutor’s office.
