GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Students at Vista Charter Academy had a very special visit from Detroit Lions’ quarterback Matthew Stafford Wednesday.

Stafford visited the school acknowledging the school’s work to help their students maintain healthy lifestyles. These efforts were possible through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s Building Healthy Communities Program.

Since 2009, the program has reached over 180,000 students in more than 390 schools in Michigan, promoting increases in daily calories burned in addition to fruit and vegetable intake.
