IONIA TOWNSHIP , Mich.  — A 52-year-old man is seriously injured following a motorcycle and truck crash Saturday evening.

The crash happened around 6:30 on M-66 near Riverside Drive.

Daniel Sargeant, 48, was driving a 1990 Ford F-150 on M-66 and stopped his vehicle after a different vehicle in front of him stopped on M-66 waiting for oncoming traffic to clear before turning left.

Ronald Alexander was driving a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle and hit the back of a 1990 Ford F-150. Alexander was forced to lay his motorcycle down and then slid into the back of Sargeant’s truck.

Alexander was transported to Sparrow Ionia Hospital by ambulance, then he was later flown by Aeromed to a different hospital.

Sargeant wasn’t injured in the accident.

Police say Alexander wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and it’s unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

The crash is still under investigation.
