(AP) — Donald Trump is more than three-quarters of the way toward clinching the Republican nomination for president.

With 950 delegates, Trump has 77 percent of the delegates needed to win the nomination. He needs to win slightly more than half of the remaining delegates to get there.

Trump had a big night on Tuesday, collecting at least 105 of the 118 delegates at stake in five states.

John Kasich will win at least five delegates and Ted Cruz will win at least one.

Seven delegates are left to be awarded.

Someone call the GOP and tell them to start cleaning out the closets and packing their bags, because the contest is over. If they don’t get behind Trump NOW, and fully back him, they will not survive as a political party. The will of the people has been fought against tooth and nail the whole way, they have deliberately sought to circumvent their constituents from day one, and they have failed. The voice of the people has prevailed over even their billionaire establishment, and if they want any sort of a future they will take this one opportunity to remain somewhat relevant by adopting humility and grace (two very alien characteristics to them) and doing the job which the people have elected them to do: back their candidate.

If, on the other hand, they continue with the childish “if Cruz can’t have the nomination, no one can” game, and continue to (vainly) thwart the will of the people, they will be abandoned by virtually all their supporters. There is no justification for behavior like they are exhibiting. It is un-American, in every way. It is socially destructive in every way. It is borderline criminal election tampering. It is everything that is wrong with this country all wrapped up into one little elite group of fat, rich, white men. Nobdy wants to live in that kind of country anymore, GOP. So you can either get with the new program, or get left behind.
