GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police are investigating a possible homicide after the body of a woman was found early Saturday morning.
Police told FOX 17 the body was found at a Grand Rapids Community College parking ramp at 143 Bostwick Ave. NE just after 2:45 a.m.
Police said the caller told dispatchers they saw a man dragging a body between two buildings on campus. When officers arrived they found blood and the body of a woman between the ages of 30 and 40 years old.
Investigators say they do not have a suspect in custody. Police are looking for a black man, described as 6 feet tall, who either has short hair or is bald. He is likely between 20 and 30 years old and was last seen wearing a white shirt and dark pants. A K-9 unit was unable to track the suspect.
Police say, as of now, they can't confirm how the woman died.
GRCC sent a notification to all staff and students about the incident, but the college wasn't open when the body was found, police said.
