VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — As the federal government and the state of North Carolina sue each other on the issue of the use of restrooms by transgender individuals, the owner of Windy City Pizza in Virginia Beach posted what some would consider a controversial sign in front of his business:

A viewer of WTKR alerted the station to the sign, and news staff sought comment from the owner, but the owner refused to comment on camera but said he doesn’t take positions on his signs but likes to get people talking.

The sign was changed later Tuesday and said, “Doing our part to shrink the gender gap. We underpay guys too!”
