CARSON CITY, Mich. — Carson City, Michigan is a small town with a population just breaking one thousand. Those few people, though, have gone a long way for a special little boy.

A few months ago Mason Burns needed a service dog, but with a $12,000 price tag, his family just couldn't afford it, as FOX 17first reported.

Mason attends very supportive school who banded together to get him his dog. With the help of classmates, teachers and a little media push from FOX 17, Carson City raised enough money for Mason to get his dog.

Mason & Check

With his new dog Spider at his side, Mason will get help at home and at school, even in the classroom that helped make it all possible.

Carson City Lower Elementary School presented Cher Car Kennels with the check paying for all of Spider's training fees, even future ones during a school assembly on Friday.
