WYOMING, Mich. — Seven years after a Grand Rapids man was shot to death in his own home, his family is still searching for answers.

Eric Keith Walton was found dead in his home in June 2008 after reports of a home invasion. Walton's family and friends gathered at Lamar Park in Wyoming on Saturday to remember Eric by holding hands in prayer and releasing balloons in his memory.

His family tells FOX 17 Walton was on dialysis at the time of his death for kidney failure.

No arrests have been made in Walton's death, making it difficult for his family to cope with the loss. They hope keeping his story alive will bring some answers.

"As a family, we still have not had any closure," said Taleah Walton, Eric's sister.

"It is hard because a murderer is still on the street," said Joe McIntosh, Eric's cousin. "There is a murderer out there, somebody went around and killed somebody and everyone's acting like nothing happened. Somebody is dead and somebody killed someone."
