HOWARD CITY, Mich. — A $2 million highway roadwork project in Montcalm County will get under way Monday and impact a 2.4-mile stretch of the roadway for 2 1/2 months.

According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the project calls for resurfacing 2.4 miles of M-46 from west of U.S. 131 to east of Federal Road plus adding a center left-turn lane between U.S. 131 and Edgar Road.

The work will begin Monday morning and conclude on Saturday, Oct. 15.

MDOT said there will be daily lane closures “under flag control” for the duration of the project.
