ALLEGAN, Mich. – An Otsego couple has been charged with a series of break-ins and car thefts.

Kenneth Lapham, 34, and Haley Jenkins, 21, are charged with Breaking and Entering and Unlawfully Driving Away an Auto.  Lapham has added charges for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The spree happened in Watson Township, at Jenkins’ sister’s home where she reported a break-in.  Lapham and Jenkins allegedly fled from the home.

Later in the day, deputies were called to a second Watson Township residence, where a victim returned home to find that food, a firearm and a Chevrolet Impala had been stolen.  A short time later, deputies were called to a third scene where a victim came home to find another firearm, cash and a Dodge Ram pickup truck had been stolen.  The previously stolen Impala was found at that scene.

In the evening, detectives found the stolen truck at the Lapham’s home.  Both Lapham and Jenkins were at the home and were arrested without incident.  Investigators learned the couple had allegedly crashed their own car before stealing the Impala.
