GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A well-known Grand Rapids bartender is recovering after a bicycle crash Tuesday night.

Dave Draugalis washit by a pick-up truck while riding his bike on 16 Mile Road near the White Pine Trail in Cedar Springs.

Draugalis and his wife Nita, who were married just two-and-a-half weeks ago, have both worked at Z's Bar in Grand Rapids for years.

"Dave has touched so many people; he makes you feel like you're at home, and you're his best friend," Nita said.  "He's smart, witty and loves to make people laugh."

He suffered a broken arm and pelvis in the crash and is currently in a drug-induced coma.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with medical expenses.  A benefit is also being held Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. at Z's.
