KALAMAZOO, Mich. — An update to a story we first brought you last month. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says it finally has identified the owner of a dog responsible for last month’s vicious attack that left the victim seriously injured.

The city attorney is now reviewing the case for possible criminal charges.

Police in Kalamazoo say the owner is a 62-year-old man from Kalamazoo.

You may remember back on July 27 when officers were called to the 700 block of Egleston to help stop the attack. Officers say the dog wouldn’t stop biting the victim’s arms and they had to shoot the dog to stop that attack.

The victim was taken to the hospital for several severe injuries.

The name of the dog owner is not being released.
