GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Kent County Sheriff's Department has identified the body of a woman found in Grand Rapids Township, and announced that a 16-year-old is in custody in what has become a homicide investigation.
The woman, now identified as McKenna Elizabeth Hilton, 18, was found outdoors in the 2000 block of Valentine Street NE in Grand Rapids Township. Residents in the area say the body was found at a trail head in the area. An autopsy will be conducted on Friday morning to determine an official cause of death.
Police have arrested a 16-year-old suspect in connection with the death. The teenager's name is not being released at this time.
Police had previously sought the public's assistance in identifying Hilton.
