GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A distracted driver ended up crashing into the yard of a northeast side house Friday morning.

The crash happened in the 2300 block of Plainfield NE around 8:30am.  Grand Rapids police say the man was driving northbound when he dropped a cigarette in his car and lost control while looking for hit.  His vehicle crossed the center line of Plainfield, hit another vehicle.  He then went on to hit a wire, a cement bird feeder and stopped at the edge of the house.  The home was not damaged.

The driver, a 61-year-old man, was not injured.  He was ticketed by police.

Both vehicles were severely damaged.
