GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A distracted driver ended up crashing into the yard of a northeast side house Friday morning.
The crash happened in the 2300 block of Plainfield NE around 8:30am. Grand Rapids police say the man was driving northbound when he dropped a cigarette in his car and lost control while looking for hit. His vehicle crossed the center line of Plainfield, hit another vehicle. He then went on to hit a wire, a cement bird feeder and stopped at the edge of the house. The home was not damaged.
The driver, a 61-year-old man, was not injured. He was ticketed by police.
Both vehicles were severely damaged.
