WYOMING, Mich. — A large water pipe burst shut down a portion of a busy intersection Friday evening.
The pipe burst along 44th Street between Byron Center and Ivanrest. The busy stretch of road was blocked off in the westbound lane.
The burst didn't impact residents living in the nearby Ramblewood Apartment complex, but the Van Timmeren Family Dentistry office was without water Friday night.
The office was closed at the time of the incident.
Crew members at the scene tell FOX 17 the water service breaks are becoming less frequent since making the switch to copper pipes from plastic.
