KENTWOOD, Mich. -- A West Michigan senior's school ID picture is making the rounds on social media.
Tyra Hunt, 17, wanted to start her senior year with a throwback picture for her school ID.
"When I was in kindergarten I refused to take my school picture and it got so serious that the principal had to call my mom," Hunt said. "It's just a little joke between me and my family."
Years after that photo, Tyra has come to embrace the years before she came into her own.
"My freshman year I looked at some of my friends' IDs and I'm like 'Wow, I didn't know we could joke around and have a funny ID picture,'" Hunt said. "And I was like 'What could I do that's funny?'"
Pigtails, colored balls and all, she paid homage to the awkward photo as a senior at East Kentwood High School.
"It's pretty crazy. I really didn't expect it to blow up that way that it did," she said.
Hunt's photo has been retweeted almost 30,000 times and counting, and was even picked up by Buzzfeed.
