1. Smart shoppers! Looking for a deal on shoes?

Wolverine worldwide is holding its Mega Tent Sale today.

There will be more than 10,000 pairs of shoes and some clothes that are up to 80 percent off the retail price.

Some of the brands include Keds, Sperry, and Hush Puppies.

All the proceeds benefit the Heart of West Michigan United Way.

The sale is going on until 6 p.m. tonight, rain or shine, on Courtland Drive in Rockford. You can’t bring strollers to the sale.

2. D’arts Donuts is officially opening to the public tomorrow.

It actually started as a food truck, until the owners decided to open up shop on lake drive in Eastown.

The new brick-and-mortar location will grow D`arts from its two original employees to a staff of 16.

Darts offers a rotating menu of about a dozen donut flavors, madcap coffee, and lunch options.

3. The groundbreaking ceremony for West Michigan's first Chick-fil-A restaurant is set for later this afternoon.

It's for the Gaines Township location, which will only be the second free-standing Chick-fil-A in the entire state.

Today's groundbreaking is set for 2 p.m. The fast food restaurant will be open for business early next year.

4. It's not too soon to start making those Christmas lists, right?

The newest American Girl Historical Doll, Melody Ellison, will be on it for some little ones.

She's based on a 9-year-old Detroit girl and aspiring singer who finds her voice amid the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. Melody made her debut Saturday in Detroit.

The company also released three books tied to the doll, written by Denise Lewis Patrick. To ensure local children will be able to read Melody's story and learn the lessons in her books, American Girl donated $100,000 in books to Detroit’s 22 public library branches.

5. Speaking of little ones, how about two more on the way for this giant panda!

Actually, the news comes as Atlanta Zoo's Lun Lun celebrates her 19th birthday.

This is actually the second set of twins for the panda.

Lun Lun is the only giant panda to have delivered twins in the U.S. Three years ago, she had twin girls.

The little ones are still living at Zoo Atlanta for the time being, but may be returned to China in the fall.

The babies could be born within the next few weeks! They will be her sixth and seventh cubs.
