MUSKEGON CO, Mich. — The cousin of accused killer Jeffrey Willis, Kevin Bluhm, entered a guilty plea Friday morning to charges related to two ongoing felony cases.
Kevin Bluhm pleaded guilty to two charges of ‘Lying to Police During a Murder Investigation’. in Muskegon County Circuit Court this morning. One of the charges related to the 2014 murder investigation of jogger Rebekah Bletsch, the other relating to the ongoing investigation into the 2013 disappearance of Jessica Heeringa.
Bluhm is scheduled to be sentenced on these charges September 20th.
The Muskegon County Prosecutor’s office tells FOX 17 that the court has engaged in a sentencing agreement with Bluhm, meaning he will likely not face further jail time once he is sentenced in September. For now, he remains incarcerated in Muskegon County Jail.
Bluhm is the cousin of accused killer Jeffrey Willis. Willis is currently facing several charges relating to the Bletsch homicide, as well as an attempted abduction of a teenage girl in April.
Documents obtained by FOX 17 through the ‘Freedom of Information Act’ show that investigators with the Norton Shores Police Department believe Willis is also responsible for killing Jessica Heeringa, though her body has never been found. Willis has never been charged with anything related to her disappearance.
