LANSING, Mich.– Your Labor Day travel plans may be a little bit easier now, as MDOT plans to suspend as much work as possible over the holiday weekend.

AAA Michigan estimated that one million travelers will be using Michigan roads during the holiday weekend. To make travel easier, MDOT will remove restrictions on 92 of 131 road construction sites statewide.

Starting on 3:00p.m. on September 2 until 6:00a.m. on September 6,  drivers will be able to travel with no construction restrictions, but MDOT advises to be careful, as equipment and temporary traffic stops will be implemented and minor shifts may take place.

For a list of all the MDOT projects being suspended and the most up-to-date information as you travel, you can visit  www.michigan.gov/drive.
