HASTINGS, Mich. - An unexpected house guest was caught on camera after a local woman says she walked into her living room and found a hawk trapped inside.
Jessica Haight shot the video earlier this month, telling FOX 17 she lives in the woods and deals with plenty of wildlife but this was completely unexpected.
"We have chickens and now we have a turkey that are ours," said Haight. "I got my camera out because I thought a chicken had gone through the screen door."
A cute moment Haight says she wanted to get on camera, but as she got closer she noticed it was actually a raptor clawing at her screen door.
"I went back into the hall and got a broom stick out of the laundry room and just kinda tip-toed over to the side of the couch, and pushed the slider open before it flew out," Haight said.
She's not sure how the hawk got inside but she thinks it may have been hunting one of her chickens. Haight says she'll be locking the doors behind her from now on.
