ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — Dustan Colyer celebrated his 22nd birthday this weekend with some help from Captain America.

Friends surprised Colyer, who’s fighting cancer for the fifth time, with a special message from actor Chris Evans.

During the two-minute video, the actor gives props to Colyer for his strength, and also threw his support behind Colyer’s organization, “DC Strong”.

“Your resilience, your strength, your bravery, your courage… I’ve never had to go through something like you’ve gone through, and as many times as you’ve gone through it, you’re like some kind of unstoppable warrior,” Evans said in the video. “It’s really unbelievable, how many times you’ve fought this fight. It’s inspiring. You really are stronger than I know I could ever be.”

Colyer is a huge fan of comic books and movies, and said it was a shock to see the video from Evans.

"By the end of the day I'm ready to go to bed and my buddy Larry walks in and says 'I have one more surprise for you," Colyer said.  "And then 'Boom,' Chris Evans pops up at the ends, and that's just mind blowing.  I immediately started crying.  It was so awesome, it was so cool."

Colyer said he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"At first when I first started watching it I just thought it was fake," he said.  "The whole thing was so surreal."

Coyler is the namesake behind“DC Strong”, an organization that reaches out to support and put smiles on those facing childhood cancer. FOX 17 first featured the group in 2014.

He’s spent most of his life battling cancer, after receiving his first diagnosis at age 6.
