“She continued to beg him” Mother pleads for her life after 12-year-old son fires three rounds at her

BURKE COUNTY, Ga. – A 12-year-old boy is in custody after he fired several shots at his mother while she begged for her life.

Officers say the boy and his mother got into a disagreement about his behavior on Wednesday afternoon.

A short time later they say he went into his parents’ bedroom and got his father’s gun.

“He shot through the door, the bedroom door,” Sgt. Smith told WRDW. “He was in the bedroom and she was in the kitchen area, sitting at the table and the shot basically just went over the top of her head.”

Investigators say the boy opened the door and fired another round at his mother, but it didn’t hit her.

Eventually, they ended up outside the home.

“She continued to beg him, and then he fired another shot. Then she just continued to beg him and finally she was able to get the gun away from him,” he said.

The boy was taken into custody and is facing an aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during a crime charge.

“If he’s acting like this now, when he turns 17, what is he going to do?” he said. “You’re talking about aggravated assault. The next step up from that is murder.”

The mother is shaken up and suffered a minor cut to her arm from a bullet fragment.

The child obviously has something wrong. It’s not a normal thought process for a child or anyone for that matter to be reprimanded by an authority figure and acfually try to kill them because of it. It has nothing to do with a knife or a baseball bat or in this case, a gun….whatever they use….it has to do with a sense of entitlement. Many Americans- children and adults both- have a big problem with taking responsibility for themselves, with hearing no, with feeling like everything should be handed to them; and they are suffering from a lack of compassion for others. This 12 year old didn’t like the fact that his mother was trying to discipline him for his inappropriate behavior so he decided to try and shoot her. That’s insane. But the immediate reaction is to blame shift and focus on the gun not on the fact that the child needs counseling? That’s the problem with people. He needs to sit his little punk ass in Juvenile Hall for awhile.
