Grand Rapids isn't the only city that has a big art exhibition happening for the next few weeks. While ArtPrize is going on in Grand Rapids, Grand Haven is having their own art competition, the ArtWalk.
The Grand Haven ArtWalk takes place in downtown Grand Haven, where hundreds of pieces of art are done by local artists. The art is spread in an 8 square block area within dozens of venues. Their art will be judged and voted on by the public for various awards and cash prizes totaling up to $10,000.
There's also a youth portion of the competition held at Loutit District Library.
Various events are happening throughout ArtWalk including Family Art Day, Music on the Street, artists meet and greets, Artist Studio Crawl, the ArtWalk Artist Market, and more. All these events and more are free and open to the public.
The Grand Haven ArtWalk kicks off today and runs through October 9. Click here for a full schedule of events.
