JAMESTOWN, Mich. – A Byron Center man has died after another vehicle drifted into his lane Wednesday morning and hit him head-on.
The crash happened about 8:00am on Byron Road, just east of 48th Avenue in Ottawa County.
Deputies say Jason Alexander, 37, was heading west on Byron Road in a minivan when he was struck head-on by a pickup truck heading east being driven by Matthew Lubbers, a 21-year-old Grandville man . Deputies say that Lubbers indicated that he may have fallen asleep while driving. Alexander was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
