DETROIT, Mich. – The auto world is getting excited this week after some political fact checking of Donald Trump.
But, the excitement isn’t about catching a falsehood or a stretch of the truth. The buzz is about the Ford Bronco is coming back.
RoadandTrack.com reports that last year a proposed contract between UAW and Ford referenced a new Bronco 4×4 and Ranger pickup truck. In the presidential debate last week, GOP nominee Donald Trump, in touting his plans to bring jobs back to the U.S. from Mexico, hammered Ford for moving so much production south of the border to Mexico.
So Ford, in an effort to defend itself on its jobs record, admitted to the Detroit Free Press that the Bronco and Ranger are coming back…and will be made in the U.S.
RoadandTrack.com reports that the new vehicles would be out in 2020.
