Kalamazoo Public Schools receive clown-related threat

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Yet another school district in West Michigan is responding to clown related threats made on social media this week.

Kalamazoo Public Schools issued a statement Thursday evening saying they learned about an online post that mentioned Loy Norrix and Kalamazoo Central High Schools. Police in Kalamazoo and Kalamazoo Township were alerted.

Police say they don’t believe the threat to be credible. This is the second time Thursday authorities in Kalamazoo County found a threat to be unfounded; the first happening at Gull Lake Schools in the morning.

FOX 17 News received this screenshot of an anonymous Facebook post Thursday evening, saying “shooting up kc or norrix tomorrow, maybe both.” The account behind the post has since been removed.

Police say they will expand their presence throughout the district Friday as they continue to investigate.
