WYOMING, Mich. — Three people were taken to the hospital following shots fired and a chase in Wyoming Saturday night.

The incident started just before 10:45 p.m. near the intersection of Francis and 36th St. That’s where officers got the call about shots being fired.

Witnesses reported seeing the driver shoot toward a house in the 100 block of 36th Street. While police checked that area, they found a vehicle matching their suspect description. Officers tried to stop the car, but the driver drove through the backyard of a home, eventually crashing into a fence near 36th and Division. However the driver still didn’t stop. Police say he or she eventually turned onto Jefferson Ave., driving at a high rate of speed across 32nd St., continued off the road and into a tree.

Two people were removed from the vehicle, a third had to be extricated. All three were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A loaded gun was also found in the vehicle.
