ADA TWP., Mich. – The Ada Township Fire and Rescue Department Chief Dave Murray will be back on the job next week after over a month of paid administrative leave.

George Haga, Ada Township Supervisor, made the announcement late Friday via a press release.

According to Haga, Murray was placed on leave on September 30th due to a complaint from another employee of “numerous and potentially significant allegations about Chief Murray’s conduct and performance.”

Haga says in the statement that the township investigated the complaints and brought in an outside investigator to make sure that a “full, fair and objective” investigation was conducted.

Haga says that the investigation was completed early last week and the township concluded that Murray “did not engage in illegal activity or conduct warranting formal discipline.”  He says the investigation also found that Murray excels in many of his job functions.  Murray will resume his active status with the department on Monday, November 14.
