Police working to identify body found in Grand River

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. —  Investigators in Ottawa County are working to identify a man whose body was found in the Grand River Thursday afternoon.

The sheriff’s office says the remains were found by a man who was walking his dog on a nature trail near Riverview Street around 1 p.m. Crews responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call.

Investigators say the man is about 6 feet tall. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday to help determine identity and a cause of death.
