Kentwood man arrested for trying to meet child online for sex

KENTWOOD, Mich. – A Kentwood man has been arrested on charges of Child Sexually Abusive Activity and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime.

The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit announced the arrest of David Robert Diehl, 39, after an investigation into his online activity. ¬†Investigators say the Diehl is suspected of trying to arrange a meeting with a child for “purposes of sexual exploitation.”

Police say they searched Diehl’s home with a warrant on Tuesday. ¬†They say that Diehl is a pastor at a Grand Rapids church. FOX 17 has learned that Diehl is a pastor at Church on Fire in Grand Rapids.

Diehl was arraigned on the two charges Wednesday.
