SAUGATUCK, Mich. — A portion of land in Saugatuck that was going to be developed into a resort on the lakeshore has been purchased.
Cottage Home announced Monday that they have bough the former Dension property owned by Singapore Dunes.
According to the developers, they will protect the majority of the 300 acres along Lake Michigan and plan to build single family homes in clusters.
The land was once the center of a controversial development led by Aubrey McClendon. McClendon died in a car crash earlier this year just hours after he was indicted by a federal grand jury in a separate case.
The president of Cottage Home says the developers are uniquely qualified to protect the area of the lakeshore.
