CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — Interstate 94 was closed down after a semi-truck jack-knifed at midday Sunday.

At 11:26 a.m. Sunday, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident on I-94 near 20 Mile Road in Marengo Township.  The investigation showed that a pickup truck traveling eastbound on the highway lost control while passing the semi and collided with the front of it.

Both vehicles then proceeded together off into the ditch.

The semi jack-knifed in the roadway, causing a partial lane closure.

The pickup’s driver was cited for speeding.

The highway was completely shut down for a short period of time while the semi and trailer were removed from the ditch.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Marshall Police Department and Bud’s Towing from Marshall.
