HOLLAND, Mich. – A note left behind at the Holland Meijer is getting a lot of attention on social media.

The note which reads in part “free Christmas rides” was left on the horse ride near the checkout on Friday with a handful of pennies.

A FOX17 viewers by the name of Jodi Essenburg shared the photo with us saying “what a great thing that parent is doing teaching, allowing, and encouraging their child to do this.”

The note appears to have been written by a young boy by the name of Imanuel with words like “Merry Christmas” and “acts of love” written on it in multiple different colors.

My kids and I have been doing the same thing for years at both Meijers Holland, seems someone just wants/ needs attention, cause I doubt a kid did this. Get over yourselves.

This was actually a project design by a group of first graders. The teacher wanted to teach them about the real meanning of christmas and ask them of ideas of how to make people happy. They came up with this idea and probably some of them weren’t very original… After all they are just 6 years old! But what is valuable to us as parents is that they collected money doing differents shores at home or sacrifacing things that they like in ex change of pennies for using them in making others happy. My daugher worked hard doing things for me at home and also gave up the money that the tooth fairy gave her this week. She said” Mama, it wasn’t easy but i am happy i did it”. My daughter was one of the kids at the supermarket and i can asure you that she doesn’t know what is Fox17. Me, the only attention that i really want her to have is God’s. About the teacher, I am so happy to have her as my daughter’s teacher…. She is comitted to teach the kids more than just math and writing and believe me, she is super low key. I thought you should know. Have a Merry Christmas!
