GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Eyewear for viewing Monday's total solar eclipse remains in short supply around West Michigan.
When they opened Saturday morning, four branches of the Grand Rapids Public Library had limited quantities of eclipse glasses available to the public.
As soon as the libraries threw open their doors, people were lined up and all four soon exhausted their supplies of glasses.
The glasses were free and were given away one per person.
Still, the main library plus the Seymour, West Leonard and Yankee Clipper branches all were out of glasses within minutes.
