Pedestrian dead and 1 hurt after early morning Kent City crash

KENT CITY, Mich. -- Multiple crews responded to a call of a pedestrian vs. car early Sunday morning.

This happened on Fruitridge Avenue just south of 15 Mile Road.

Deputies tell Fox 17 that a 41-year-old man and his passenger were driving down the road, when they crossed the center line and hit a driveway and flipped.

The two got out of their car to walk across the street to a nearby house to get help.

Another car came up to check out what had happened, and the 41-year-old man and his female passenger went up to the car to talk to them as they called 911.

Then 41-year-old man, went back across the road and he was then hit and killed by a car going down the road.

There were 4 people in the car that struck the man, none of them were injured. They are all cooperating with the investigation.

The passenger of the first car was brought to the hospital with a head injury.
