MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — One person was killed in an explosion and fire at a Muskegon Heights home Tuesday morning.

Firefighters were called around 4:57 a.m. to Superior Street to after an explosion led to a fire. When crews arrived, they saw a large fire coming from the remnants of the home.

After putting the fire out, crews found a body under a collapsed section of the roof. The person's identity is still being determined.

Investigators didn't say what may have caused the explosion, but said the home should have been vacant. Neighbors told crews that no one had been living in the house for several works.
