HOLLAND, Mich. — The Holland Department of Public Safety put out a fire at Padnos Recycling early Friday morning.
They say it happened just before 1:30 a.m. in the back lot when a large pile of scrap metal caught fire near Pine and 7th Avenue.
The Holland Fire Department says when they first got there they tried to put out the fire but the size and the gaps in the pile made it difficult.
Once they got the fire under control, Padnos employees worked with public safety to break down the pile with cranes.
Over three hours later, just after 4:30 a.m., the fire was officially out.
No one was hurt in the fire and officials says the cause was accidental.
